A major upgrade which introduced the sites multi-lingual capability and made many significant enhancements.
Languages
|
| 1. |
Complex Languages
Support for complex languages has been implemented using the Unicode UTF-8 standard, for example, the site now supports European, Middle Eastern and Asian fonts.
|
| 2. |
Language Translations
The system now allows you to enter a number of translations for your base survey. The default language can be preselected by passing the specific language code along with the survey URL, respondent are able to select an alternative language from those available.

Survey Management
|
| 1. |
Changing a Published Survey
If a published survey needs to be changed there are now more changes that can be made without the need to revise the survey and can be made through changing its characteristics. These include the ability to change static text, reference numbers and translations.
To help you determine whether you need to revise a survey or can simply change its characteristics we have added a decision tool so you can specify the changes that are required and the most suitable revise option method will be highlighted.
|
| 2. |
Changing the Characteristics of a Published Survey
We have introduced a control process that can optionally automate the suspension of a survey whilst you are changing its characteristics. To get to the composer you will now have to define whether you want to suspend the survey or not and if you exit the composer by clicking the End button you will be prompted to restart it.
|
| 3. |
Stopping a Survey
We have changed the terminology. A survey is now referred to as Suspended rather than Stopped.
|
| 4. |
Publication Email
When publishing a survey we send out an email confirmation. This is no longer sent out when re-publishing a survey and it will no longer contain the HTML attachment which runs the survey in a frame. The attachment has been causing mail filters to intercept the email. To work with frames information is available from the Information Page.Enterprise account users who have a nominated approver specified will receive emails to confirm that a survey has been published, republished or not approved.
|
| 5. |
Survey Types
Since the ability to create public surveys has been withdrawn the survey selection field has been removed from the survey Create and Edit screens and all surveys are now created as private surveys. The survey password is now permanently available on the survey Create and Edit screens and will come into effect if defined with a value.
|
| 6. |
Create from Template
When creating a survey if you select a survey template you are now able to preview the selected survey prior to creating the new survey.
|
| 7. |
Re-Start on Submit
This facility has been enhanced and renamed. It is now referred to as "Response Setting" and has three options; "Allow one response per computer", "Allow multiple responses per computer", and "Allow multiple responses per computer, display New Response button". These define the action to be taken once a person completes the survey. The New Response button will appear on the "Thank You" page, therefore if you specify your own Exit URL the "display New Response button" state will be ignored. |
| 8. |
List Surveys
When listing surveys only the first 30 surveys will be displayed with the option to "Display all" provided at the end of the list.
A search field as been added. This will perform a simple search on most fields including survey id, publish id, name, notes and status.
The number of questions in each survey is now displayed in the survey table. |
| 9. |
Email Export Option
The option to attach the detailed results export files has been removed from the user profile. The facility remains functional but is only available on request to those who are unable to download zip files from the website. This is due to problems that some users have experienced with emails being blocked by mail filters.
|
| 10. |
Survey Details
For each published survey only the last two datasets will be displayed in the Publication history and summary section, use the "Show all" option to display older datasets. |
| 11. |
Appraisals
The Survey Appraisal facility has been withdrawn. Anyone requiring an appraisal for their survey will in future have to insert this into their survey. Appraisal questions can be imported from the Template Library.
|
Composer
A number of changes have been made to the Composer layout that will provide more functionality these include:
|
| 1. |
Preview Pane Gutter
A gutter has been added to the left hand side of the preview pane. This contains a sequential reference number for each survey line, a reference that is also used in the line index and branching selectors.

This facility will allow you to quickly revise a survey's reference and in addition controls are now provided that will allow you to automatically assign numbers to your survey. Please note that the default is for the reference checkbox to be unchecked and not to have any numbering displayed on a published survey.
|
| 6. |

Runtime Functionality
Additional features and improvements have been made to the operation of the survey publication:
|
| 1. |
Randomization

|
| 2. |
Other Answer
When adding survey items with formats that support the 'Other' facility (that allows a respondent to enter a value other than those presented to them) it is now possible to customise the label of the 'Other' field. |
| 3. |
Test Mode
The publisher of a survey is now able to stop a publication but retain access to the survey themselves so that they can undertake testing. This is convenient to test the changes made when altering the survey characteristics.
|
| 4. |
Multi-Lingual System Messages
The system messages, for example, control button text and validation messages, will be displayed in the language in which the survey is being undertaken. |
| 5. |
